Riding Tips


  1. Keep to the left. We drive on the left side of the road in Bermuda. It takes time to get used to, so please remember, keep to the left.
  2. Wear the helmet provided and keep it securely fastened when riding. It's smart and it's the law.
  3. The maximum spped limit throughout Bermuda is 35 kph or about 22 mph. In the Town of St. George it is reduced to 25 kph.
  4. Please take corners and bends slowly and carefully. The speed limit is stricly enforced and fines for violations are severe. So, slow down and enjoy Bermuda.
  5. Let the engine warm up for about 1 minute before starting off.
  6. For faster response when braking, ride with your fingers of your left hand resting on the rear brake lever.
  7. Park only where it is legal to do so.
  8. It is a smart idead to wear a jacket and shoes when riding. And, bright clothing makes it easy for other drivers to see you.
  9. Fasten your belongings securely in the cycle's basket.
  10. The yellow centre line on the road is a warning that it is dangerous or illegal to park.
  11. Do not touch the muffler once the engine has been run. It becomes very hot.
  12. Lock your cycle, it is not insured against theft. If your cycle is stolen, call us at Oleander and the police immediately.
  13. Slow down and use extra care when riding on wet or sandy surfaces. Many corners, hills and entrances are blind and require extra caution.
